S30: A lot better than expected

Written by Starmans at 20:49 5/12-2014

11 results and 3 wins made season 30 the best season of team Starmans so far. By earning 610 points the team reached division 3 for the first time. Highlights: good results in our first MRT and the impressive performance of Jan Hilberts in the second half of the season.

  Results:

  Jef Pragt
6th Monte Rosa Tour General Classification
3rd Juberri - Pas de la Casa
  2nd The Forever Race
  2nd Race Five
  3ed Reno - Lovelock

  Jan Hilberts
  1st AC Oporto
  1st Anju - Anju
  2nd Betchat Critérium
  3rd Streymoy Race

  Radek ÅšliwiÅ„ski
3rd Monte Rosa Tour Youth Classification

  Bernard Karban
  1st New Race of Man

  Total prize money earned: 126k

Both Brecht Frans and Radek ÅšliwiÅ„ski finished their training this season. At avg 42 Brecht Frans will be the team's go-to hill support for a long time to come. Radek Sliwinski maxed at avg 45, which is not as high as was hoped for. However, he is now a 214pt climber, so he will surely get the chance to compete for a result or two.

A target for this season was to expand to 11 riders. Though the team gained a few reinforcements, we didn't manage to expand yet. However, on day 1 of season 31 Walter Sturkenboom will join our team. He is a 200+ climbing talent with potentials similar to Christian Hermans. "Christian is one of my great examples and I hope to compete against him in the future", Walter speaks about his ambitions.

Training Walter Sturkenboom will be one of our targets of next season, as well as finding another talent and a jobber. In a few season's time we want to have two different decent climbing squads.

We hope to finish season 31 in the top of division 4, and if possible higher. Adding the first jersey, hopefully RotM General Classification, to our palmarès is another dream, though a top 3 is satisfactory.

Wow, season 31 hasn't even started yet and I'm already reminded of how important expanding exactly is. :-/

Starmans at 16:22 6/12-2014
Thanks guys (and thank YOU Menni, for Jan)! I guess the game gets even more addictive with a race every 3 or 4 days instead of once every week. ;-)

Stroopwafel at 13:24 6/12-2014
Agree, expanding should be next priority :). But for now, enjoy the success!!

Cremtec at 07:33 6/12-2014
Good season, expanding will be good for the team, participate in more races and use more riders as a captain worked well for my team
